78 - All Our Yesterdays

Data Stellare 5943.7: Kirk, Spock e McCoy scesi su Sarpeidon, il cui sole, Beta Niobe, esploderà in una nova entro poche ore, scoprono che tutti gli abitanti sono scomparsi. L'ultimo rimasto, il bibliotecario Atoz spiega loro che, mediante l'atavachron, si sono rifugiati tutti in differenti ere del passato del pianeta per salvarsi; anche i nostri eroi, a causa di un incidente, vengono spediti in due diversi passati.

• Mariette Hartley ha interpretato il ruolo della mutante Lira'a nel film TV di Gene Roddenberry Genesis II. Dal momento che la produzione non ha voluto che in questo episodio Zarabeth mostrasse il proprio ombelico, Roddenberry, alcuni anni dopo, in Genesis II le ha dato ben due ombelichi.
• Il nome di Atoz è un gioco di parole: in inglese «A to Z» significa »dalla A alla Z». Un bibliotecario non potrebbe avere nome migliore.
• Il nome atavachron deriva da due parole greche che significano indietro nel tempo.
• Il titolo inglese di questo episodio deriva da un passaggio di Macbeth (V 5 19-28) di William Shakespeare:
  «Tomorrow, tomorrow, and tomorrow,
