Data Stellare 5476.3: L'Enterprise e un vascello klingon si incontrano nei pressi di Beta XII-Alfa. Kirk e i suoi sono convinti che tutti i coloni di quel pianeta siano stati uccisi dai Klingon e questi credono che l'Enterprise abbia danneggiato la loro nave. In realtà è tutta opera di un'entità aliena.
