Data Stellare 5027.3: Kirk, apparentemente sotto stress, ordina di penetrare nello spazio romulano e l'Enterprise viene immediatamente circondata da tre incrociatori romulani che le impongono la resa. Kirk e Spock salgono a bordo di una delle navi e qui Spock, confessando che Kirk ha invaso il territorio romulano senza alcun ordine della Federazione, lo denuncia. Ma le ragioni che hanno spinto Kirk a comportarsi in quel modo sono ben altre.
Comandante Romulana: Romulan women are not like Vulcan females. We are not dedicated to pure logic and the sterility of non-emotion.
