45 - A Private Little War

Data Stellare 4211.4: Tornando su Neural, un pianeta su cui era stato 13 anni prima, Kirk scopre che i Klingon, per impadronirsi di esso, stanno fornendo delle rudimentali armi da fuoco ad una delle due tribù del pianeta. Egli si rende subito conto che l'unica soluzione è quella di armare anche la pacifica tribù del suo vecchio amico Tyree.

• Nello script il mugato è chiamato «gumato».
• Il nome del pianeta non viene citato nei dialoghi, benché una battuta non inclusa nella versione definitiva suggeriva che il nome fosse Neural.
• Janos Prohaska ha ricavato il costume del mugato dal costume di una scimmia che aveva realizzato per un altro progetto.
• Per qualche strano motivo, questo episodio è stato l'ultimo ad essere trasmesso in Giappone la prima volta che è stata trasmessa la Serie Classica.
