Data Stellare 49690.1: Il Dottore non riesce a trovare una cura contro un virus mortale che Janeway e Chakotay hanno contratto attraverso il morso di un insetto. Impossibilitata a continuare il proprio compito, Janeway è costretta ad affidare il comando permanente della nave a Tuvok e a ritirarsi, insieme a Chakotay, su un piccolo pianeta in grado di inibire gli effetti del male.

• La durata della permanenza di Janeway e Chakotay sul pianeta è difficile da calcolare in maniera esatta, in quanto gli unici riferimenti sono un diario di Tuvok che dice «6 settimane dopo aver lasciato Janeway sul pianeta» (42 giorni) il giorno prima della decisione di contattare i Vidiiani; in seguito, parlando di Denara Pel, Tuvok parla di un sistema a 70 anni luce da lì. Quando torna verso il sistema, Tuvok dice di andarci a curvatura 6. Partendo da quest'ultimo dato, abbiamo quindi:
  Warp 6 = 392 c => 70 al * 365 = 25.550 gl / 392 = 65.18 g (al = anni luce; gl= giorni luce; g = giorni).
  Da cui si ricava che il numero di giorni di permanenza sul pianeta è 42 + 1 + 65 = 108.
  È comunque un risultato strano, perché la Voyager impiega di meno tempo a tornare indietro che a scappare verso il quadrante Alfa, anche se potrebbero esserci stati danni alla nave durante la battaglia con i Vidiiani.
• Verso la fine dell'episodio, quando Janeway riceve la comunicazione da Tuvok, su una mensola dell'abitazione c'è un oggetto con una sorta di obiettivo con una luce rossa che ricorda molto i sensori ottici di HAL 9000.

• Durante la battaglia contro i Vidiiani, Paris dice che gli schermi sono calati al 47%.
• Su alcuni contenitori e, in particolare, sulla valigetta che porta Janeway, quando si addentra nel bosco, c'è l'etichetta 0926 (9 - 2 = 7 e 6 - 2 = 4).
• Danara Pel dice che il pianeta è il terzo di un sistema di sette (37 è metà di 74).

YATI

• Sembra che Tuvok sia destinato a mantenere per sempre il comando della Voyager, tuttavia continua ad indossare l'uniforme gialla della sezione sicurezza e non quella rossa della sezione comando.
