57 - Elaan of Troyius

Data Stellare 4372.5: Per garantire la pace tra i pianeti di Elas e Troyius del sistema Tellum, è stato combinato un matrimonio tra due membri di alto rango dei rispettivi governi. L'Enterprise deve portare Elaan, dohlman di Elas, su Troyius. Ma la mancanza di diplomazia di questa donna e la presenza di una spia klingon a bordo complicano la missione.

Versione italiana

• Durante il litigio tra Kirk e Elaan, la principessa esclama «Lei non mi insegnerà niente, capitano, dovessi stare qui 10 anni luce!» L'anno luce è una misura di spazio, non di tempo.
• Ad un certo punto, Kirk annuncia: «Qui è il capitano James Kirk della stazione spaziale Enterprise.»

Uhura: It's supposed to soothe the savage breast.
Spock: Very true. In ancient times, the Vulcan lyre was used to lull the fury of the mating time.
Kirk: You have a Vulcan lyre in your quarters, Mr. Spock.
Spock: I have not played it in some time.
Kirk: But you still know how? Play well?
Spock: I took second prize in the all Vulcan music competition.
Scott: Who got first prize?
Spock: My father.
