545 - The Reckoning

Data Stellare Sconosciuta: Sisko, quale Emissario, viene convocato a B'Hala sul luogo del ritrovamento di un importante manufatto bajoriano molto antico sul quale ci sono dei geroglifici che iniziano con «Benvenuto emissario». Dopo un'improvvisa visione dei Profeti sul luogo del ritrovamento, Sisko decide di portare il manufatto su Deep Space Nine per poter approfondire la traduzione dei geroglifici, ma Kai Winn è decisa a riportare il manufatto su Bajor, ad ogni costo.

• Il nome del monaco bajoriano Koral viene citato solamente nello script.

• Come fa Kai Winn ad avere libero accesso alla consolle della sala comando per aumentare la dose di particelle sulla passeggiata visto che a quella consolle stava lavorando Worf, che deve averla sicuramente bloccata con qualche codice?

Scene tagliate

Nella scena sulla Passeggiata di Deep Space Nine, dopo il colloquio tra Kira e Winn, la scena proseguiva così.

     WINN
    (cool)
   Naturally. We both serve the
   Prophets. There is no higher
   calling.
    (beat)
   Sometimes, I sense you forget
   that, child.

 Winn switches into Kai mode to throw Kira off balance.

     WINN
   When was the last time you went to
   the Shrine to pray?

     KIRA
   A few days ago.

     WINN
    (disappointed)
   I see.

 Kira finds herself a bit on the defensive, which is
 just what Winn wanted.

     KIRA
   I've been busy attending to
   station business.

     WINN
   I've found that daily prayer is
   indispensable to a fulfilling
   spiritual life. Perhaps you
   should make time to cultivate your
   faith.

     KIRA
   I will.

     WINN
   If I'm not mistaken, evening
   services are about to begin.

     KIRA
   I think so, yes.

     WINN
   Then go, child. You wouldn't want
   to be late.

 The Pope is telling her to go to church, and despite
 herself, Kira finds that she feels compelled to comply.
 She nods and moves off. The Kai watches her leave,
 secretly pleased she can still have that effect on
 people, then turns and returns to her private thoughts.
 Off the image of the Kai at the window...
