Data Stellare 5730.2: Giungendo a bordo dell'Enterprise con una navetta rubata ad una base stellare, Lokai, un alieno mezzo bianco e mezzo nero, chiede protezione. Poco tempo dopo, anche Bele, suo inseguitore e suo simile, arriva a bordo e presto tra i due inizia una cruenta e inspiegabile lotta basata su pregiudizi razziali.
Spock: Change is the essential process of all existence.
Lokai: You're from the planet Earth. There is no persecution on your
planet.
Chekov: There was persecution on Earth once; I remember reading about it
in my history class.
Spock: The actual theory is that all life forms evolved from the lower levels to the more advanced stages.
Sulu: No one knows how he'll act under pressure.
Bele: It is obvious to the most simple-minded that Lokai is of an
inferiore breed.
Spock: The ovious visual evidence, Commissioner, is that he is of the
same «breed» as yourself.
Bele: Are you blind, Commander Spock? Well, look at me. Look at me.
Kirk: You are black on one side and white on the other.
Bele: I am black on the right side.
Spock: I fail to see the significant difference...
Bele: Lokai is white on the right side. All of his people are
white on the right side.
