Data Stellare 4211.4: Tornando su Neural, un pianeta su cui era stato 13 anni prima, Kirk scopre che i Klingon, per impadronirsi di esso, stanno fornendo delle rudimentali armi da fuoco ad una delle due tribù del pianeta. Kirk si rende subito conto che l'unica soluzione è quella di armare anche la pacifica tribù del suo vecchio amico Tyree.

Apella: I thought my people would grow tired of killing. But you were right, they see it is easier than trading. And it has its pleasures. I feel it myself. Like the hunt, but with richer rewards.

Kirk: War isn't a good life, but it's life.
