- In seguito alla morte di Talas, Shran richiede il diritto di vendetta sul Tellarita che l'ha colpita. Per evitare un incidente diplomatico e lo scioglimento della fragile alleanza, Archer prende il posto del Tellarita e affronta in duello Shran. Archer vince e, invece di uccidere
Shran lo lascia indifeso tagliandogli un'antenna.
- Shran dice di essersi fatto portavoce degli Umani presso la Guardia Imperiale andoriana. Il Capitano confessa anche per la prima volta di
sentirsi personalmente amico di Archer. I due capitani stabiliscono anche le basi per una futura alleanza tra i loro popoli.
- Vediamo il pilota della nave romulana.
- I Tellariti e gli Andoriani decidono di riprendere i loro negoziati.
- Il nome di Valdore non viene citato nei dialoghi.
- A Valdore verrà dedicata almeno una nave.
- Il piano per rintracciare la nave drone è simile a quello di Picard in Redemption - Part II. In entrambi i casi la rete di rilevamento
richiede la presenza di molte navi, anche qui il nemico da scoprire sono i Romulani e anche questa volta la nave al comando della flottiglia è una Enterprise.
- La rete di rilevamento richiede 128 navi. All'operazione partecipano 23 navi vulcaniane e un numero imprecisato di navi tellariti e andoriane; è la prima volta che una flotta di queste quattro specie collabora per un obiettivo comune.
- La manovra delle navi dell'alleanza che partono tutte assieme a velocità warp ricorda una scena analoga di Return of the Jedi (Il ritorno dello Jedi) quando le navi ribelli entrano contemporaneamente nell'iperspazio per dirigersi verso Endor [T:39:01].
- Questo è il primo episodio trasmesso dopo l'annuncio della chiusura della serie.

Reed: How's that?
Tucker: If this ship's run by a computer... what we need to do is find the off switch.
Shran: I'd rather cohabit with Klingon targs than join forces with Tellarites!
Gral: Your personal mating preference is no concern of mine!
Archer (a Shran e Gral): If you're waiting for me to stop you, don't worry... I won't.
Archer: There's one thing Humans seem to do better than any species we've met: when we're faced with a common threat... we put our differences aside and try to cooperate.
Reed: Can you make any sense of this?
Tucker: Aaah, where's Hoshi when you need'er?
Archer: «Try»?
Shran: Well, nobody's perfect.
Archer: Now comes the hard part. We have to sit and wait.
Tucker: You did all this with one phase pistol?!
Reed: You're good at building things, I'm good at blowing them up.
T'Pol: Vulcans have a saying: «One man can summon the future». What happens if that man throws away his life before his time?
Archer: If I've learned anything these past few years on Enterprise, it's that... the future isn't fixed.
T'Pol: If anything happens to you...
Archer: Then I'd better make sure that nothing does.
Sato: Barbaric, if you ask me.
Shran: This is not what I wanted.
Archer: Things have a way of turning out differently than we expect.
Reed: I tell you, I'd like to find the designer of this suit and make him wear it for three days!
Reed: Are you pulling my leg?
Tucker: Ha, ha! Ma... Malcolm... you're just such an easy target!
