10 Gennaio 2153: Quando l'
Enterprise inverte la rotta per studiare un fenomeno planetario Mayweather ne approfitta per visitare la nave cargo in cui è nato e cresciuto, la
Horizon. Ma Travis scopre che, dopo la recente morte di suo padre, il Capitano della nave, le cose sono cambiate moltissimo a bordo della
Horizon.
- L'Enterprise assiste ad un fenomeno molto particolare: un pianeta si sposta dalla sua orbita e finisce in mezzo a due giganti gassose.
- Mayweather visita la sua famiglia sulla Horizon.
- Travis scopre che suo padre è morto sei settimane prima.
- L'Enterprise, in 18 mesi di navigazione, è arrivata fino a 150 anni luce dalla Terra e ha visitato 22 pianeti disabitati.
- Tucker invita T'Pol a vedere Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein e Son of Frankenstein.
- Travis Mayweather menziona i Mazariti.
- Nel vecchio alloggio di Travis sulla Horizon si vede su uno scaffale un modellino della Phoenix e un veliero.
- È straordinario come non sia cambiata negli anni la grafica dei computer di bordo dell'Enterprise rispetto al vecchio cargo spaziale Horizon, varato più di 20 anni prima.
- Forse gli sceneggiatori se ne sono dimenticati, ma dall'episodio sembrerebbe che l'uscita dal subspazio della Horizon fosse per niente traumatica rispetto all'ingresso in curvatura.
- Nella scena finale dell'episodio, in alto a destra su una paratia c'è una targhetta con la scritta 02-374.
- T'Pol mangia del popcorn offertole da Archer prendendolo con le mani, ma nel pilot era stato stabilito che i Vulcaniani non toccano il cibo con le mani.
- La lampada che si vede nell'alloggio di Travis Mayweather sulla Horizon è uguale a quelle della sala riunioni degli ufficiali in Star Trek VI.
- In occasione della prima trasmissione in Italia, questo episodio è stato trasmesso senza i titoli di coda ed è stato unito a The Breach. Tra i due episodi, oltre la pausa pubblicitaria è stato trasmesso un breve stacco che mostra l'Enterprise mentre entra in curvatura e il logo «Star Trek Enterprise» accompagnati da un jingle tratto dalla sigla di apertura.
Phlox: As I suspected, it's nothing more than a simple headache.
T'Pol: I was hoping for something more serious.
Phlox: Oh...
T'Pol: I've been coerced into watching tonight's movie.
Phlox: If you're looking for a medical excuse, I'm afraid you're out of luck! If it's any consolation I'll be there as well. I agree this form of entertainment it's rather crude, but it can often provide an enlightening
glimpse into human behavior.
T'Pol: Don't be surprised if you see me again, afterwards. I've little doubt my headache will return. [T:09.52]
Mayweather: Do you have a minute, Sir?
Archer: Several, actually. Please.
T'Pol: I have no interest in horror movies.
Tucker: How do you know if you've never seen one?
Mayweather: Starfleet really have to think about putting families on starships.
Reed: You must be joking!
Mayweather: No one would ever get homesick.
Reed: Yeah! Well, they'd better post a psychologist on board, because I'd need one if my parents were roaming the corridors!
Archer: It might be fun. And a little fraternizing couldn't hurt.
T'Pol: I don't understand how sitting silently in a darkened room constitute fraternizing.
Archer: It's a communal experience. I tell you: let's make a night. Dinner in the Captain's mess, eighteen hundred, movie at nineteen-thirty, you'll be my date!
T'Pol: I beg your pardon?
Archer: I'll be a perfect gentleman! [T:17.54]
Rianna: You're the helmsman of the first Warp 5 starship. I'm proud of you. Everyone here is, even Paul, though he won't admit it! If you indult to a little motherly advice? Don't let your guilt over leave and guide your decision.
Travis: I'll try to keep that in mind. [T:33.47]
Rianna: Aren't you a little old for this?
Mayweather: I don't know. I thought it might be fun to regress for a while. What d'you say we turn off the grav plating and jump on the bed?
Mayweather: We've gone a hundred and fifty light-years, seen twenty-two inhabited worlds!
Rianna: In eighteen months?!
Mayweather: You can't believe what's out there!
Rianna: Columbus, Magellan, Travis Mayweather!
Travis Mayweather: My career's the last thing on my mind, right now.
Nora Mayweather: Oh, congratulations! Now you know what it's like to be a parent!
T'Pol: I don't understand why humans will feel in frightening themselves.
Archer: It gets the heart pumping!
T'Pol: Cardiovascular activity would be more efficient. [T:34.46]
T'Pol: Captain. I'm reading biosigns on the planet. To talk with doctor Frankenstein: «It's alive!» [T:36.44]
Archer: You sure everything's all right?
Mayweather: Never better, Sir.
